Amateur Radio License Testing

Test dates for 2024:
January 27
March 23
June 1
July 20
September 14
November 3 - held at the FCARC Swapfest. Location TBD

The exam location will be at Maplewood Middle School, 1600 Midway Road, Menasha 54952. The room is on the SE corner of the building, door 17.

Fee is $15.
You will need two forms of ID at least one of which must be a picture ID
If you are upgrading, please bring a copy of your license for the VE's to check. It speeds the process. Otherwise, pull it up on your phone at registration.
Start receiving applicants at 8:00 am. Testing to begin at 8:30 am. Registration closes at 9:00 am.

New applicants must have a FRN (FCC Registration Number) prior to taking the test. Visit https://www.fcc.gov/rofrn for a video on how to register for your FRN.

All applicants must provide a valid email address per the FCC.

The FCC is charging a $35 license fee. Payments will need to be made to the FCC and cannot be processed by the Volunteer Examiners. After your application is submitted and processed, the FCC will send you an email on how to pay the licensing fee.
