St. Joe's 5K Run/Walk - October 9, 2021

Aug

The tradition continues! The Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club will be supporting the St. Joe's 5K Run/Walk again this year.
Volunteers are needed for Saturday, October 9th.
https://www.pacesetters-run.org/stjoes5krunwalk

This is a new course but it's still 5 kilometers - so the event goes pretty fast. You'll be home for lunch.
Help support this very worthy cause and the FCARC.
Contact Mike Moore for more details or to volunteer. kmikemoo@hotmail.com

EAA W9ZL Event Station Canceled for 2021

Jul
03

After much discussion and review the Club has decided we can not hold the EAA W9ZL Event Station his year. With sharing of microphones and radio equipment, and having to be in close proximity to log contacts and train the kids in equipment use we felt it couldn't be done safely. I realize that precautions are starting to be rolled back now, but I have missed the publishing dead lines for event announcements in the hobby publications and also have not started recruiting the 20+ people needed to man the shifts.

A Farewell to Zoom

The FCARC General Membership Meeting will return to it original, in-person form on Monday, June 21st, 2021.
Thank you, Zoom. You served us well but your time is done. You may stand down.

I want to extend a serious THANK YOU to Donna, Andy and Joel for their extraordinary efforts to give us this option during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are grateful.

For those attending the General Membership Meeting, Maplewood Middle School asks that we follow current CDC guidance on masks.
