January's General Membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 17 at the UW - Fox Valley Campus in Menasha due to the University being closed for Martian Luther King Jr Day. The FCARC will be accepting payment for the Awards Banquet before and after the meeting. . We will accept cash, check or credit card. The Awards Banquet will be held at the Darboy Club on February 18. Social Hour from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Dinner at 6:00 PM with the awards program after dinner.

2017 2 Meter SSTV Net Schedule

Hams in range of Appleton, WI are invited to check into the Fox Cities Amateur Radio Club (FCARC) SSTV net. The purpose of this net is to help hams learn, experiment and use Slow Scan TV in the quiet and safety of 2 meters. This net meets at 6 pm on a designated Sunday each month. We use the FCARC repeater frequency, 145.330 MHz with Tone 100.0. If that is busy, we will use the SSTV national calling frequency for 2 meter simplex which is 145.500 MHz.

This net typically meets on the second Sunday of each month at 6 pm. Your NCS for this semi-formal, directed net is Larry WA9TT.

2017 FCARC License Exams Schedule

January 28, 2017 will be the first VE test of the new year.

The exams are held at the Fox Valley Technical College, 1825 N. Bluemound Drive, Appleton, WI 54912-2277. FVTC is located near Interstate 41 and Northland Ave.(county highway OO). Walk-ins are welcome.

Laverne Root - N9RQM - SK

It is with deep personal regret that I inform the FCARC of Laverne Root, N9RQM death.

Larverne was a long time member for the FCARC and participated in many FCARC's activates.

He will ne sadly missed and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family is this time of mourning

Laverne passed away peacefully at home on Saturday Morning. His funeral service will be Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral home. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.

The W9ZL Special Event Station at EAA Airventure is featured in an article written by Emma Schaefer, KC9YGJ in the December 2016 issue of QST.

I extend my congratulations, and thanks to Emma on her publication of this article.It is certainly a great piece of publicity for both the W9ZL Airventure Special Event Station and our club in general.

ATTENTION ALL FCARC MEMBERS

Thank You to everyone that supported this fund raising raffle.

The Yeasu FT-991 440 to 160 meters plus Fusion

This was a fund raising event. The money raised will be used to buy the equipment to have the 145.33 repeater a Wires-X repeater. When this is complete, anyone will be able to get on the Fusion system using a standard HT or Fusion radio.

ATTENTION ALL FCARC MEMBERS

The FCARC will raffle a Yeasu FT-991 440 to 160 meters plus Fusion

This is a fund raising event. This is to buy the equipment to have the 145.33 repeater a Wires-X repeater. When done anyone will be able to get on the Fusion system using a standard HT or Fusion radio.

This Raffle is limited to 85 tickets. Each ticket is $20. When all the tickets are sold and paid for the drawing will be at the next FCARC meeting or event.
